New Running Event
2024 was unique for the Polish running community. We celebrated the 100th anniversary of the first Polish marathon, which became an opportunity to introduce a new, ambitious running project. The Golden Series 42 (Złota Seria 42) is an initiative that will debut in 2025 and will now arouse great interest among experienced marathon runners and people dreaming of royal distance.
Cooperation of three cities - Krakow, Warsaw and Poznań
The Golden Series 42 were created by the organizers of the three largest and most prestigious Polish marathons: Cracovia Marathon, Warsaw Marathon and Poznań Marathon. A joint project is the fruit of many months of cooperation and an expression of their involvement in the development of running in Poland. The goal of the Golden Series 42 is not only to promote the marathon distance, but also to build a strong community of runners who will motivate each other to overcome subsequent challenges.
The idea of the Złota Seria 42
The Złota Seria 42 is a cycle of three races held in different cities during one season:
- Krakow Marathon – 6 April 2025,
- Warsaw Marathon – 28 September 2025,
- Poznań Marathon – 12 October 2025.
The symbol of the cycle is Pegasus – a mythological winged horse that personifies strength, freedom and endurance. The Golden Series 42 is also a unique reward system based on gamification, which motivates participants to achieve subsequent goals.
Prize system
Each participant who completes all three marathons in three years will receive a trophy in the form of a medal depicting a three-leafed Pegasus. The organisers have created four levels of prizes:
- Brown Pegasus – for completing all three races regardless of time.
- Silver Pegasus – for reaching a certain time threshold in one of the marathons.
- Platinum Pegasus – for better times based on age and gender.
- Golden Pegasus – for those who achieve the best results.
The time criteria have been developed based on the results of participants in previous editions of the marathon, taking into account differences in age and gender. The prize system is designed to be fair, but at the same time motivating and encouraging people to push themselves.
Modern promotion and registration - Pegasus Club and Community Building
The Golden Series 42 is not only a bike, but also a social platform – the Pegaza Club. Runners will be able to exchange experiences, inspire each other and face the next challenges together. The club will be a place of integration for Polish marathon runners, offering additional events, workshops and meetings.
Registration for the Złota Seria 42 will begin in early 2025 at www.zlotaseria.pl. Participation in the project requires a one-time medal fee of 60 PLN, but each of the three marathons requires separate registration and payment of the entry fee in accordance with the regulations of the event.
