A Scenic Route Like No Other

Starting and finishing in Kampen, Sylt’s iconic hub for nature lovers and jet-setters, the North Sea Ultra offers unparalleled views and the full spectrum of island life:

  • The Ellenbogen Nature Reserve: Explore Germany’s northernmost point, an unspoilt sanctuary of sand dunes and rugged coastline.
  • The Wadden Sea: Run along this UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the tides create ever-changing landscapes.
  • Picturesque ports and bustling towns: Pass through the charming harbours of List and Hörnum, the quiet streets of Keitum and the lively promenade of Westerland.
  • Solitude and tranquillity: Experience moments of tranquillity at Morsum Cliff and Rantum Basin, two of Sylt’s most breathtaking natural landmarks.

The flat terrain tempts runners to pick up speed, but the island’s famous breezes can make even the smoothest path feel like a mountain climb.

A community affair

The race features 14 refreshment stops, supported by local communities and businesses, showcasing the island’s hospitality. From replenishing energy reserves to soaking up the warmth of Sylt’s vibrant culture, each stop adds a special flavour to the experience.
