The heart of the event is the ARBERLAND Classic Trail – 66 kilometres of varied terrain with 2,300 metres of elevation gain. This route combines everything a trail runner dreams of: wide forest tracks, rocky paths, steep climbs, exhilarating descents and moments of serene beauty on mountain peaks. For those who thrive on endurance and adventure, this trail is a must.

The Arberland Ultratrail offers a variety of routes to suit runners of all abilities and ambitions:
- Abersee Trail: 20 km with 850 m of altitude difference
- Schachtenbach Trail: 35 km with 1,400 m of altitude difference
- Auerhahn Trail: 45 km with 1,800 m of altitude difference
- Arberland Classic Trail: 66 km with a difference in altitude of 2,300 m
- Arberland Ultra Trail: 100km with a staggering 3,700m of climbing
Whether you’re an experienced ultra runner or a passionate trail enthusiast, there’s a course for you. Each route takes you past iconic landmarks, including the ARBER Hohenzollern Ski Stadium and the stunning peaks that surround it.

Dog lovers can join in the fun! The Arberland Ultratrail has special categories for the Arbersee (20 km) and Schachtenbach (35 km) trails where participants can run with their canine companions. It’s an adventure for you and your furry friend.
The ultimate test: Arberland Ultra Trail
For those seeking the ultimate trail running challenge, the Arberland Ultra Trail beckons. Combining the Classic Trail and the Schachtenbach Trail, this 100 kilometre route will test your physical and mental endurance. With 3,700 metres of climbing and strict time limits, this elite race is for the ambitious and determined. Completing the Ultra Trail is not only a feat of endurance, it’s a badge of honour.
To even attempt this monumental run, participants must first complete the 66 kilometre Classic Trail in under 10 hours. Those who complete the Ultra Trail will join the ranks of true trail running legends and prove their strength, courage and determination.
